Poisonous Dreams (glad!Ace x noble reader) AU

The room was dimly lit as only a few candles lit as the sun had disappeared and the moon had begun rise.

Carefully stitching back your gladiators wound on his muscular arm, you smiled as he ranted on about being off guard by the other competitors.

Ace was the true highlight of what a gladiator should be. Ace was the talk of the lower class people but was despised by the upper class.

More importantly a jealous uncle Akainu.

Ace would disarm or seriously injure his opponents making the rich despise him, after all gladiators are hard to come by.

Training and teaching them is expensive enough not to mention feeding them.

You didn't care though, Ace was special to you. He was so adorable when he would stuff his mouth with food, or when he slept eating food.

Not to mention his heart was big enough to fill the stadium. 

"You're not listening."

"I'm sorry, what were you talking about."

You say grinning sheepishly.

"Never mind, you were probably thinking of something girly. Like your hair."

"I-I was not idiot."

"Sure."

Ace pouted with his beautiful brown eyes of his making your heart quiver with excitement.

You kiss his arm where the stitches were in his skin, his muscular arm tensed as your lips met with his arm muscle.

"There, better?"

You say as you look him in the eye as Ace starts to point to his lip.

"I need one here too."

You blush at his suggestion and you flick his forehead causing Ace to playfully cover his head with his hands.

"I'm sure you'll live."

You freak out and touch your back frantically to see what Ace was talking about.

"What is it?! Is it a bug?!"

That's when you hear Ace laugh hiding his laugh behind his hand.

"Oh it's nothing, it's just Cupids arrow stuck in your back. I'm sure it's nothing."

You blush and puff out your cheeks in frustration. 

"Not funny!"

You sigh and shove a Apple in his mouth, silencing the gladiator.

"There. Much better."

Ace bites the apple chewing it and smiling.

"It was a mere joke."

"Goodnight, may the gods favor you tomorrow."

You say leaving the handsome man in his room alone, all the while Ace prayed that the gods would favor him in having you as his woman.

"Ace, maybe you just stay in bed. You look awful."

Luffy says as they walk in the arena.

"I'll be fine."

Was all Ace could mutter as he wobbled his way into the sandy arena.

"These guys mean business, try not get hit."

Sabo says rubbing Ace's back as he continued to cough.

"Start the fight!"

You looked down from the balcony watching the spectacle below, Ace wasn't doing too bad although you knew Ace could do better.

That's when you felt the presence of a dangerous person.

"Ace doesn't seem to be doing to well, perhaps he's having a bad day."

You watch as your uncle Akainu sit beside you.

"Perhaps he ate too much. I mean it's not like today's event will be to the death or anything."

"Of course."

Watching the scrimmage from above you really looked at Ace's performance.

His movements were never so sluggish, his movements didn't even belong to his own.

Although your fears were but to rest as the last guy was taken down by luffy.

Another victory.

"See everything-"

Ace fell to the ground on his knees coughing up blood like a maniac.

"Ace!"

Luffy yells out rushing over to him with Sabo not far behind.

You start to panic again and rush down to the stadium, not noticing your uncles devilish smile.

When you got into the hallway to the coliseum luffy was carrying his brother in his arms tears rolling down his face.

"Luffy."

You say running over to him, Sabo stopped you by hugging you.

"I'm sorry (f/n)... He's gone."

Tears had started to roam down Sabo's face and yours.

"No... No he can't be."

Your voice gave way as Sabo said something else in your ear.

"He wanted to tell you...that he loved you and that he'll see you on the other side.

He also said not remove that arrow from your back because he'll never remove his."

Your world turned dark filling with despair and rage. Your world crushed into millions of pieces.

How you wish this was a dream.

How you wish you could wake up from it.

A trail of slobber attaches a piece of paper to a youthful cheek.

Sleepy eyes wake up to see a black hair freckled guy with a built body from her dream.

"Idiot, what have I told you about sleeping class and you guys say I'm bad."

Ace humphs as he adjusts his backpack.

"I...I fell asleep..it was just a dream?"

"...oh what did you dream about?"

Ace says curiously as you take the paper off your face.

"N-nothing important. Say why don't we go to watch some movies at my place?"

Ace nods and grabs your hand.

"Why don't we go watch Troy that's a good movie."

You grimaced at the suggestion of the Troy movie and kiss Ace on the cheek.

"How about Tangled instead?"
